Access
Hida Satoyama Cycling is located in the Furukawa-cho, Hida City, which is the northern most area of the Gifu Prefecture in central Japan.
We are located in the area called the "Hida region" which includes Takayama, Gero, and Shirakawa-go. The region is famous for Shirakawa-go's World Heritage status, the beautiful townscape, and the steep mountains.
As most of the region is mountainous forest and relatively isolated with heavy snowfalls in the winter, the local culture and lifestyle has evolved to adapt to live harmoniously with these environmental factors.
If you are in Takayama, please take any train going towards Toyama and get off at Hida Furukawa Station.
20 to 30 minute drive from Takayama.

By Express Bus
Please note that there are no express buses directly to Hida Furukawa from the major metropolitan areas.
However, there are express buses to Takayama from the major metropolitan areas in Japan, and it is a 15 min train ride to Hida Furukawa using the JR Takayama Line.
The buses will take you to Takayama Nohi Bus Center which is next door to the JR Takama Station, so minimal walking is required.
By Plane
Toyama or Komatsu are the two nearest airports near Hida. From both airports, the fastest way to get to Hida Furukawa is by rental car (1.5 hrs from Toyama and 2 hours for Komatsu).
If you wish to take public transportation from Toyama, you have the following 2 options:
- 1. Take a local city bus from the airport to Toyama Station and then take the JR Takayama Line to Hida Furukawa Station.
- 2. Take the express bus from Toyama Airport to Takayama and take the JR Takayama Line to Hida Furukawa Station.
From Komatsu, there is a bus from the airport to Kanazawa station where you can take the express bus to Takayama.

Parking
Please park at the Hida City Office parking lot.
If this lot is full, there is also free parking behind Hida Furukawa Station *A (10 min walk to Hida Satoyama Cycling office).
