Ride with our friendly and knowledgeable guides to discover the beautiful scenic Japanese countryside.

Concept
Hida Satoyama Cycling was created with the sole purpose to connecting the traveler to Hida. We guide you through the gorgeous views of the Japanese countryside landscape, and throughout the tour visitors can expect plenty of interaction with the friendly local population and experience first-hand the hospitality of everyday Japanese countryside folks.
The Location
The Hida area, located deep within the Japanese Alps, is the perfect example of the Satoyama, or Japanese countryside. The ever changing scenery through the four seasons with the backdrop of the steep mountain range offer breathtaking views.
The Guides
Hida Satoyama Cycling's friendly and professional English speaking guides will navigate visitors through the Hida landscape and will take you to areas only known amongst locals. See here to see who you'll be riding with.
The Tour
Expect a small group for the guided tours which will allow the visitors to interact with our guides. We limit the number of participants of the tour to ensure safety of the participants and the quality of our guided tours.
The Bicycles
We chose bicycles as our means to get around since cycling allows visitors to engage all five senses and see the details that would be missed when in a car, yet cover the distance to fully enjoy Hida.
Participants of the Hida Satoyama Cycling tours will ride the LOUIS GARNEAU LGS-FIVE.
We invite you to bike through Hida to enjoy the magnificent views and experience the beauty of Japanese country life.
